Teaser Tuesday: Chime by Franny Billingsley

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

A skull sat on Mr. Dreary's shoulder. It stared as me as though we were acquainted, which we were.
~ARC p.50

This book has a fascinatingly unusual style. I'm only about 50 pages in so far, but it's definitely a unique read! Thanks to Tawni at The Book Worms for letting me borrow it!

Are you intrigued?

I've been meaning to read this one. Thanks for the teaser. My adult teaser is from Dead by Midnight by Carolyn Hart and my young adult teaser is from In the Arms of Stone Angels by Jordan Dane. Happy reading!

Great teaser. I won Chime in a contest a few weeks ago so it's on my tbr pile.

CHIME is my favorite read of 2011 (so far) and I'm always happy to see others reading it. I agree that it is beyond unusual, both the writing and the premise, but I think that's why I loved it so much. I hope you enjoy it :)
