A Cornucopia of Dystopia Event

Thanks to Andrea at Loud Words and Sounds for this awesome button!

A month or so ago, Danya from A Tapestry of Words approached me about co-hosting an event featuring some of the amazing dystopian novels coming out in 2011. Ever since Uglies by Scott Westerfeld, I've been in love with the genre and I'm so excited to see it becoming more popular -- so of course I said yes!

From March 21 to April 18, Danya, myself, and 15 other bloggers will be posting reviews, interviews, guest posts and giveaways featuring 8 new dystopian reads: Bumped by Megan McCafferty, Memento Nora by Angie Smibert, XVI by Julia Karr, Possession by Elana Johnson, Wither by Lauren DeStefano, Delirium by Lauren Oliver, Awaken by Katie Kacvinsky, and Dark Parties by Sara Grant.

Very cool! I just read my first dystopian novel, Delirium - I liked the creativity behind the concept of the novel, but still not convinved it's the genre for em - but I think it is GREAT that you are honoring it with this event. It is such a popular genre - it's everywhere and written by everyone right now! I'll definitely check out the reviews and links til April 18 to see if there's any more books I should check out before making any final conclusions about my own opinion on the genre. Thanks so much for sharing!
