Book Blogger Hop: September 17 - 23, 2010

Welcome and thanks for hopping by!

The Book Blogger Hop is a great meme hosted by Crazy-for-Books! The idea is to network and find amazing new blogs to read. You can hop over there to see the rules and join in the fun!

This week's question is...

In honor of Book Blogger Appreciation Week, let's take time this week to honor our favorite book bloggers and why we love them!

There are so many great bloggers out there, and I appreciate what each and every one of them do! There are a few sites that always, always have content that interests me (by virtue of similar tastes), so in no particular order I'd like to give a shoutout to the following fabulous bloggers:

Eleni at La Femme Readers
Eleni always has great features - future release roundups, author interviews and guest posts! It's great to see that level of interaction with the book and blogging community! She posts frequently, so there's always something new going on over at her site. She's also really encouraging to new bloggers and always willing to offer advice!

Lori at Pure Imagination
Lori always has great, helpful reviews of the most buzzed-about books on the market, as well as a deserving few that aren't as hyped but still worth a look! I just love her site design too. It's easy on the eyes and makes browsing enjoyable. Not surprising since Lori does design as well! She recently did a Twilight Takeover event and decked out the whole site for the event. It was a lot of fun and very well planned, so I recommend keeping an eye out for future festivities!

Natalie at Mindful Musings
Natalie and I really have similar tastes - a lot of paranormal and YA, so always gives me a heads up on what books I should be adding to my pile! She also has some great features - I especially love one she did recently on Puck from The Iron King :-) She's also a really great member of the community - she responds to her commenters and frequently hops around to other book sites.

The Team at Reading Teen
I love the team spirit over at Reading Teen. You can often find several points of view about the same read, which is a great way to get a real feel for the book. They're also extremely conscious of their YA audience, and are willing to acknowledge that some books may be too MA for some readers. I've stumbled onto some books in my time that I wish someone had warned me about, so I appreciate that extra effort on their part.

Adam at Roof Beam Readers
I love that Adam focuses on those classic works that have withstood the test of time and are perhaps most worthy of reflection and discussion. Roof Beam Readers is a very thoughtful site that makes me want to curl up in an old library with a leatherbound volume and a cup of coffee. I also really love that Adam raises awareness for important issues in the book world - especially censorship, a topic that many believe dead but that is still rearing its ugly head today.

Melissa writes some of the most insightful reviews I've ever read. Her analysis is inspiring to read, while still being completely accessible and fun. She really encourages readers to do more than skim a book, but to really delve into the language and message. Her writing is really delightful to read. Plus, she's very sweet and interactive with her readers!

I'd love to find some new blogs to love, so please share your favorites!

Hop over to Crazy-for-Books to join the fun and check out the participating blogs!

Psst...while you're here, please check out my review of Juliet and author Anne Fortier's guest post, The Bard Forever!

Wow! Thanks so much for the shout out, Casey. It means a lot to me for you to say what you have, not to me personally, but to the blogging community as a whole.

Your site is one of my favorite ones to visit too.
